It is aimed at those who use network players or Roon servers and do not need all the functions of a music library: just the storage, with the same care.

Inside is a 3.5-inch 8 TB drive, selected after comparative listening tests and held firmly by the Highly Stable Storage System mount. The chassis is hairline-finished aluminium, with a 2 mm-thick base for rigidity, and weighs 3.6 kg, almost three times a standard IT drive. The power supply capacitors sit on a dedicated circuit board and the clock is an NDK unit of a higher grade than in previous versions.

Connections

There are two USB 3.0 ports: “To HOST” (type B) to the music library or computer, “To DEVICE” (type A) for playback with a USB DAC. The drive comes formatted in exFAT, convenient with both Mac and Windows. The finish is black.

Technical data

Internal drive: selected 8 TB HDD

USB ports: 1 USB 3.0 type A “TO DEVICE”, 1 USB 3.0 type B “TO HOST”

Power supply: AC input 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz (max 18 W); DC input 12 V, 1.5 A

Dimensions (W × H × D): 215 × 61 × 269 mm, excluding protruding parts

Weight: approx. 3.6 kg

Operating environment: 5-35 °C, humidity 20-80 % non-condensing

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0615/5278/7645/collections/Server-musicali-melco-disponibili-su-videosell.jpg?v=1686575713
