blustream-dac12au
Blustream DAC12AU

Digital to analogue converter with simultaneous coaxial output

The Blustream DAC12AU turns a digital audio signal, optical or coaxial, into a stereo analogue output, and at the same time converts optical into coaxial digital.

The typical use is linking the digital audio output of a TV to the analogue input of an amplifier or sound system that has no digital inputs. The converter detects by itself which input is connected and, if both are present, gives priority to optical. The analogue and coaxial outputs work together, so a second digital device can be fed as well. No setup is required: just connect it and power it. Note that the DAC12AU does not downmix multichannel signals, so the source must send stereo PCM audio.

Key features

Optical or coaxial converted to stereo analogue audio

Optical input converted to a coaxial digital output

Automatic input detection, with priority to optical

Coaxial and analogue outputs live at the same moment

Sampling rates from 32 to 192 kHz, resolution up to 24-bit

Works straight away, with no settings

Connections

Inputs are one optical and one RCA coaxial connector; outputs are two stereo analogue sockets and an RCA coaxial.
