nordost-tyr-2-cavo-digitale
Nordost Tyr 2 Digital Cable

Nordost Tyr 2: digital cable, 75 Ohm S/PDIF or 110 Ohm AES/EBU

Tyr 2 Digital is the most advanced digital cable in the Norse 2 series, offered in two builds: 75 Ohm S/PDIF and 110 Ohm AES/EBU. In both, the silver-plated solid-core conductors are suspended in patented Dual Mono-Filament technology, which forms a dielectric made almost entirely of air. Lengths are mechanically tuned to reduce internal microphony and impedance resonance at high frequencies.

The 75 Ohm version has a coaxial structure and gold-plated Neutrik BNC connectors, with gold-plated RCA adapters supplied. The 110 Ohm version has a twinaxial structure and gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors, which keep impedance constant along the cable and at the terminations.

Technical features

Conductors: 1 of 18 AWG (75 Ohm) or 2 of 19 AWG (110 Ohm)

Material: 99.99999% pure OFC copper, plated in silver, solid core

Insulation: FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene)

Construction: Dual Mono-Filament, coaxial (75 Ohm) or twinaxial (110 Ohm)

Capacitance: 15.9 pF/ft (75 Ohm), 11.0 pF/ft (110 Ohm)

Propagation velocity: 88%; 97% shielding

Termination: gold-plated Neutrik BNC with RCA adapter, or gold-plated Neutrik XLR

Available versions

The cable is available with 75 Ohm BNC/RCA termination or 110 Ohm XLR termination, in lengths of 1 m, 1.5 m and 2 m.
