X8 has very high ambitions. It is the right compromise between performance and price, and is suitable for enthusiasts with a fine palate.
The race of the Austrian manufacturer does not stop. After the entry line of turntables E, debuts with this new X8 Evolution, belonging to the X Series, and which fits immediately before the top Xtension 9, Xtension 10 and Xtension 12.
It is equipped with many peculiarities, starting with the heavy TPE damped platter, made from a single block of turned aluminum, balanced with precision and supported by a neodymium magnet inserted in the base and which reduces the load on the bearing. The frame is in low resonance MDF and the Pro-Ject 9cc EVO carbon arm is adopted, already much appreciated by the public for absolute performance compared to the price.
Pro-Ject X8 is available in both standard and X8 Evolution Super Pack versions, with pre-assembled Ortofon Quintet Blue cartridge.
The feet are new, in aluminum and adjustable in height and where the damping in TPE is adopted instead of the more expensive magnetic suspension, however very effective in decoupling the X8 from the surface on which it is placed. Instead of the vinyl surface glued on the platter, adopted in the older brothers, the classic non-slip mat has been used which allows the enthusiast greater customization, with more performing felts or of a different color.
Another peculiarity of X8 is the possibility of a True Balanced connection, possible using the 5P ->XLR Connect IT Phono DS cable not supplied. Using a balanced phono stage, for example the soon to be released DS3 B Phono Box or any of the RS - RS2 Series phono stages, the balanced connection can be adopted which guarantees a noticeable improvement in dynamics, thanks to the marked increase in the signal ratio /noise.
Pro-Ject X8 is available in both standard and X8 Evolution Super Pack versions, with pre-assembled Ortofon Quintet Blue cartridge, and in lacquered white, lacquered black or natural walnut.
