Visions of Sound does not release discs: it chooses them

Visions of Sound is a series curated by Christoph Diekmann for AREA Entertainment. It does not produce discs: among Blu-ray releases it selects those whose mix truly deserves to be heard. Genre is not the criterion: the catalogue brings together classical, jazz, progressive, folk, concerts and studio productions. From September 2026 Videosell presents one of these titles every month, available online and for listening by appointment in the Ellipse room.

The recording stops
being in front of you

In stereo the sound is spread across two channels, right and left. In multichannel the scene opens up: sound objects take their place in space and surround you. With Dolby Atmos, each object can be placed around and above the listener, precisely and naturally.

You are no longer listening to two speakers rebuilding a scene. You are listening to a scene that fills the room.

Two channels The sound is spread to the right and left.
Around you Five channels plus subwoofer: the sound surrounds you.
Above and around Sound objects placed in a three-dimensional space.
The result depends on the recording and the mix, not just on the number of channels.
