Trinnov Amplitude 16 multi-channel power amp, continuous power of 200W/channel at 8 ohms and 400W/channel at 4 ohms * for 16 channels.
Designed for immersive home theaters, with custom integration in mind, the Amplitude16 becomes perhaps the most versatile power amplifier available today, providing users with the unique ability to accommodate varying channel counts and power requirements with exceptional efficiency of the rack.
Basically it's two 8-channel amplifiers on a single 3RU chassis: the Amplitude16 has two power supplies, each requiring its own 15A AC power outlet.
In its basic model, it is a 16-channel amplifier with a continuous power of 200W/channel at 8 ohms and 400W/channel at 4 ohms *.
Going further, with the Amplitude 16 you can link pairs of amplifier channels to increase the power available for specific outputs. This allows you to maximize the power for the channels with the greatest demand (for example, the left, center and right channels of the screen).
In bridged mode, the Trinnov Amplitude16's power output for one channel increases to 800W/channel into 8 ohms and over 1,000W/channel into 4 ohms.
Anticipating future advanced applications, another unique feature of the Amplitude16 is its Dante Input option card , providing an option to connect the amplifier to any Altitude processor via a network switch. This option card also includes functions for monitoring the hardware status of the amplifier.
Trinnov Audio is announcing future compatibility of all Altitude processors with Ravenna/AES67 later this year as a free update. Dante provides an AES67 compatibility mode, making it easy to integrate Altitude processors with Amplitude16.
The balanced analog input to the Amplitude16 is enabled through dual DB25 connectors with Tascam pinouts, eliminating the need to wire up to 16 individual XLR connections, making connection and rack space much more efficient.
Designed in collaboration with ICEpower, according to Trinnov specifications , the Amplitude16 maximizes the performance of their Class D modules , to deliver exceptional sound quality and the best possible immersive experience in a "compact" amplifier that creates very little heat.
The Amplitude16's input sensitivity is optimally matched to the output level of Trinnov's Altitude audio-video processors, maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range of the system. Signal-to-noise performance is typically improved by 6 to 8 dB over power amplifiers with conventional input sensitivity.
A front panel LED display identifies normal operation, channel clipping, protection, and bridge status for each channel pair. Trigger inputs and outputs are provided for turning on the amplifier and for daisy-chaining other amplifiers in the system.
