Reference DAC architecture
At the heart of the Aune S8 is a high-end ESS9038PRO chip , which enables PCM decoding up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512 , ensuring high resolution and compatibility with modern digital sources. The digital section uses an XMOS + FPGA interface and a low-jitter femtosecond clock system, designed to minimize jitter and background noise , avoiding the use of internal ASRC and thus offering a more natural and transparent sound reproduction. The power supply and internal design aim for electrical stability and conversion precision to return a clean and dynamic analog signal.
