15.4-channel A/V processing with four subwoofers and balanced outputs throughout
Anthem AVM90 8K is a 15.4-channel A/V preamplifier/processor with no internal power amplification, four subwoofer outputs, RCA/XLR pre-outs, HDMI 2.1 8K and ARC Genesis.
AVM90 concentrates processing, conversion and control in a 15.4 platform intended for systems with separate power amplifiers. Compared with AVM70 it doubles the subwoofer outputs from two to four while retaining RCA and XLR pre-outs for every channel, MM phono, Zone 2, network streaming and a toroidal-transformer power supply.

15.4 processing with no internal power amps
AVM90 8K handles 15.4 channels at preamplifier level and does not contain power stages for the loudspeakers. RCA and balanced XLR outputs are available for every channel, allowing a fully separate signal chain and free choice of the number and output of external power amplifiers.
Four subwoofer outputs
The 15.4 configuration includes four dedicated subwoofer outputs, a feature that distinguishes AVM90 from the 15.2-channel AVM70. Multiple low-frequency channels integrate with ARC Genesis so calibration can account for the contribution of the subwoofers together with the rest of the system.
HDMI 2.1, 8K and audio return
Seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and three outputs handle 8K, HDCP 2.3, HDR, BT2020 and CEC, while the Anthem platform also supports 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz. HDMI ARC/eARC audio return is a TV connection feature and must not be confused with Anthem Room Correction.
Immersive formats and ARC Genesis
Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Virtual:X and IMAX Enhanced are part of the multichannel platform. ARC Genesis uses the supplied professional microphone to measure the room and apply correction calibrated to the installed layout.
DAC, audio inputs and phono
The Quad Core DSP works with 32-bit/768 kHz Differential Output D/A converters. Five digital inputs, six analogue RCA inputs, an MM phono input and an optical digital output allow dedicated stereo and digital sources to sit alongside the HDMI sources.
Streaming, Zone 2 and integration
Bluetooth 4.2, AirPlay 2, Chromecast Audio, Spotify Connect, internet radio and Roon expand network playback. Zone 2 Multiroom, WebBrowser IP interface, RS-232, IR, iOS/Android app, OLED display, remote control and toroidal transformer complete system integration.
