2 x 100 W, MM phono, Bluetooth and optical in a compact amplifier
Totem Kin Amp is a 2 x 100 W RMS Class D stereo amplifier with Bluetooth aptX HD, MM phono input, optical digital input, subwoofer output and AMP IN.
It is designed to build a compact passive-speaker system without restricting source choice. Turntables, streamers, televisions and mobile devices can all be connected, while AMP IN allows direct access to the power stage from a source with its own volume control.
Key features
- Class D amplification rated at 2 x 100 W RMS.
- Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX HD.
- Switchable MM phono/line RCA input.
- Optical digital input supporting up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
- Mini-jack AUX plus AMP IN preamp bypass.
- 20-220 Hz subwoofer output.
- 3.5 mm headphone output.
- Auto-on and automatic input sensing.
From integrated amplifier to power amplifier with AMP IN
Connecting a streamer or variable-output source to AMP IN bypasses the internal preamplifier. Kin Amp can therefore operate as the power stage in a system controlled from an external app, keeping the amplification section while simplifying multiroom integration.
Turntable and digital sources in one system
The MM phono input removes the need for a separate preamp with many turntables, while optical handles signals up to 24/192. Bluetooth aptX HD covers wireless playback and the subwoofer output makes a 2.1 system with Kin Sub 8 or Sub 10 straightforward.
Speaker matching
Available power suits Totem's compact monitors and more accessible towers, including Kin One, Kin Flex and several Bison models. Its small chassis works well on low furniture or a desk, while the feature set is sufficient for a main stereo system in a small or medium room. Bass and treble controls from the remote provide quick adjustment for recordings, speaker placement or low-level listening without requiring an external processor. Auto-on and input sensing also reduce manual steps when the system is used with a television or streamer that is expected to start playback automatically.
