Discover the revolution in High-End amplification
ROSE RA180 is a integrated amplifier avant-garde that uses the latest most innovative technologies in the field of audio amplifications. Power damping and dead time have been reduced to less than 1/10. Linearity has been drastically improved to create near-perfect sound that transcends the boundaries between digital and analog.
Savor the pure sound of naturalness provided by the RA180.
Newly designed class AD amplifier
Over time amplifiers evolved from class A to AB and then to class D. Class AB was developed to improve on the high heat generation and low efficiency of Class A.
Class D has higher efficiency and higher output than AB, and also significantly improved S/N and THD characteristics compared to Class A and AB.
However, the sound quality of Class D was rated as inferior to that of A/AB due to the inherent limitations of the digital circuit adopted in this technology.
The GaN class AD amplifier developed by HiFi ROSE instead drastically improved the problems of the current D-Class by applying new innovative materials.
Class AD amplification
Class D amplifiers have a topology that theoretically provides perfect linear output at 0% distortion and 100% energy efficiency.
To achieve this, the switching action requires high speed and precision.
However, the previous products lacked compared to Class A/AB in the aspect of linearity due to the limitations of silicon FETs, which could not produce smooth and natural sound.
In the ROSE RA180, we used a new material called GaN FET instead of the traditional silicon FET to solve this problem.
Dead time has been drastically improved to 1/10th or less, and nearly perfect linear output with near zero switching speed has been achieved .
This linearity goes beyond the limits of class D and produces a smooth and natural sound, like an analog amplifier .
The comparison graph of switching speed and accuracy between silicon FET and GaN FET employed by ROSE RA180 is shown below. The difference is glaring.
Power up to 400 Watts per Channel
The RA180 is composed of two amplifier modules that can operate separately or in synergy: one AMP module is specialized in stabilizing the mid-bass range and the overall tonal balance, and another amplifier module is dedicated to the high and of the super tweeter.
Each AMP module supports 200W (8Ω) and can deliver up to 400W per channel . When two independent modules are connected to the high and low frequencies of a speaker separately, the driving force can be greatly improved without being affected by an opposing electromotive force.
BTL mode combines two independent modules for an even richer and more balanced sound.
Below we show the speaker connection diagram that can be used with the ROSE RA180, with Bi-Amping Connection or BTL Connection .
Support for the very high frequencies of the Super Tweeters
Designed to play up to the realm of super tweeters
The range of human hearing has an upper limit of 15-20kHz. So, is there really no need to reproduce higher frequencies?
Instant highs extend well beyond 20kHz, even in smooth sound.
For example, horns have a frequency response that extends out to 100kHz, and sources from 88.2kHz to 192kHz have a frequency response of 40kHz to 96kHz.
The RA180 is designed with a wide frequency response range so that even high-resolution sound sources with an output range of 20Hz to 50kHz, 100kHz @ -3dB, 200kHz @ -6dB can be heard.
While this playback capability may be beyond a person's hearing, it faithfully reproduces a wide range of frequencies that contribute to expressing a deep and expansive sound field that is absolutely faithful to the original sound.
Proprietary Power Factor Circuit
Balanced Power Section
The power supply which was developed exclusively for the RA180 uses fourth generation SiC FET technology to deliver high power with less heat.
In addition, thanks to a self-developed PFC (power factor circuit) , it is designed not to be affected by sudden load fluctuations.
The power device is developed to support a powerful damping factor of at least 200 , and the 1000W high power is designed to reproduce powerful bass and silky treble .
PHONO amplifier with variable EQ
Our goal when developing the RA180's PHONO stage was to be able to accurately reproduce the vinyl record manufacturer's original intention.
For this reason we can affirm that, thanks to our high fidelity and precision circuit, the ROSE RA180 is capable of exactly reproducing the original sound as it was conceived by the sound engineer , which is the fundamental principle of all ROSE HiFi products.
Our phono stage is designed to faithfully match a variety of vinyl records, thanks to fine-tuning functions of TURNOVER for the bass-mids and ROLL OFF for the high frequencies.
It smoothly amplifies the very weak signal picked up by the cartridge and keeps it as close to the original sound as possible.
The moving magnet and moving coil stages are supplied with a simple selection of switches and the equalization values corresponding to the curves of the various record manufacturers are obtained by us using only components with a very low tolerance of 0.1%.
