Seven channels for a complete 7.1 or a separate Atmos base layer
M6x 250.7 provides 7x250 W into 4 ohms with RCA/XLR inputs and twin toroidal transformers.
M6x 250.7 powers all seven loudspeakers of a 7.1 system in one chassis: three fronts, two side surrounds and two rear surrounds. In a larger Atmos room it can handle the entire listener-level layer while another amplifier drives the heights. Its purpose is not merely "two more channels" than the 250.5, but preventing rear surrounds and fronts from sharing an AV receiver supply during dense scenes.

The natural power amplifier for dedicated 7.1
An AV processor sends seven analogue outputs and M6x 250.7 supplies power through identical channel architecture. Behaviour stays predictable as effects and music travel around the room. The active subwoofer remains self-powered and occupies no amplifier channel.
Horizontal layer separated from height channels
In 7.1.4, the 250.7 can drive every listener-level speaker while a 250.4/2 handles the four overheads. The division makes wiring, calibration and diagnostics intuitive. When only five speakers are used, two channels remain idle and the 250.5 is the more rational purchase.
Twin toroids for seven simultaneous demands
Two transformers distribute current demand across a wider multichannel load. The advantage appears when several speakers reproduce peaks simultaneously, not during isolated dialogue. XLR helps with a remote equipment rack and RCA loops permit expansion. Passive cooling means silence, not an absence of heat. Allowing clearance above the case protects that silent cooling strategy during long film sessions.
