Seven channels, digital radio and a complete 5.1.2 system
CINEMA 60 DAB S2 combines 7.2 channels at 100 W, DAB+, six HDMI inputs, HEOS and an upgraded eight-channel 32-bit DAC.
CINEMA 60 DAB S2 is the second generation for a 5.1.2 or 7.1 system without external power amplifiers, adding DAB+ digital radio. Seven output stages provide a claimed 100 W each; six HDMI inputs, three supporting 8K, serve consoles and video sources, while two outputs include eARC. HEOS handles streaming and multiroom operation. Its purpose is not to imitate the nine-channel CINEMA 50 S2, but to build a less complex cinema with documented radio reception.

Two height speakers add a vertical dimension without the nine amplifiers required for 5.1.4. Alternatively, seven channels serve traditional 7.1. Decide before wiring because amplifier assignment changes the job of available terminals.
DAB+ is a genuine source
DAB is not decorative lettering: the model receives DAB+ digital radio as well as FM, subject to antenna and local coverage. This distinguishes it from CINEMA 50 S2, which has no DAB+ radio. Radio and HEOS streaming remain separate paths.
Series 2 conversion
Series 2 adopts an upgraded eight-channel, 32-bit DAC for multichannel and stereo programme conversion.
Three 8K ports, not six
The six HDMI inputs are not equal in bandwidth: three support 8K. Demanding sources require advance allocation, while eARC returns television audio. With several 8K consoles, CINEMA 50 S2 supplies six 8K inputs and greater freedom.
When it is enough beside the 50
If the room cannot accommodate four heights and needs no 11.4 processing, seven channels reduce cost and complexity. Audyssey MultEQ handles levels and response, while optional Dirac Live broadens calibration. Savings can fund speakers, subwoofers and treatment.
