Focal Aria Evo X N°2: 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker
The first of the three Aria Evo X floorstanding models, built in France: one midrange and two 16.5 cm Flax woofers below the TAM tweeter, for balanced, precise hi-fi listening at home.
The heart of the series is the Flax cone, patented and unveiled by Focal in 2013 following over five years of development work: a sandwich with a core of French flax fibre, light, stiff and well damped, which gives a natural sound and a rich midrange. The TMD suspension, from 2015, steadies the movement of the midrange. The TAM tweeter, built in France, has an aluminium-magnesium inverted dome with M profile and works in a waveguide, for wide dispersion.
Cabinet
The very stiff MDF cabinet has non-parallel walls and stands on an aluminium alloy plinth. The front reflex port is joined by a second one facing the floor; the front panel carries a leather-effect insert.
Partners
For a complete hi-fi system Focal points to the all-in-one Naim players Uniti Atom and Uniti Star. In a 5.1 home theatre system it is joined by the Aria Evo X CC, the Aria SR 900 surrounds and the Sub 1000 F subwoofer.
