48 Gbps Ultra High Speed certified HDMI cable with solid copper conductors
Pearl 48 is the entry point to the AudioQuest range of 48 Gbps HDMI cables. It holds the Ultra High Speed certification issued by HDMI Licensing, and its bandwidth covers 4K/120, 8K/60 and the other functions defined by HDMI 2.1, reaching 10K Ultra HD at professional level, with support for Dynamic HDR and eARC.
The 48 Gbps figure comes from four balanced audio/video pairs, every one of them carrying 12 Gbps. Materials and construction also benefit a 4K system already in use, with which the cable remains fully backward compatible. It suits televisions, projectors, soundbars and AV receivers.
Long-Grain Copper conductors
The conductors are made of solid Long-Grain Copper. Compared with stranded wire, a solid core avoids the electrical and magnetic interaction between individual strands, which is a leading cause of distortion in any cable. High-purity metal, selected insulation and careful shielding complete the structure.
Noise reduction
A shield, however complete, is not enough against the interference generated by Wi-Fi networks and mobile phones. Pearl 48 uses Level 1 Noise-Dissipation: all 19 conductors in the cable are Direction-Controlled, including the audio/video and eARC signals, the ground-reference drains, the control lines and the power lines, so that radio-frequency noise is drained away efficiently.
Gaming and lengths
The cable handles the functions aimed at gaming, namely 4K at 120 frames, VRR, ALLM and QFT, useful with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and gaming computers. Pearl 48 is offered in lengths of 0.6 m, 1 m, 1.5 m, 2 m, 3 m and 5 m.
