48Gbps HDMI cable that gives precedence to the eARC audio channel
ThunderBird eARC Priority 48 is built for systems where the sound starts at the television: streaming apps, the tuner and whatever is plugged into the screen leave through the eARC or ARC socket and reach a soundbar, AV receiver or processor along this cable. That return path is where the design spends its most valuable materials.
It remains a genuine 48-Series HDMI lead in every respect: 48Gbps of bandwidth handles picture formats up to 10K, including 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz, along with current video features. It also works without restriction on the 4K screens already in use.
Conductors: silver where the audio travels
The eARC data pair and the Ground-Reference drain contain 10% silver, the recipe found in the equivalent 48-Series models. The four balanced pairs for audio and video, each good for 12Gbps, rely on Long-Grain Copper (LGC) carrying a 0.5% silver plating: the better metal sits at the outside of the wire, which is where it counts most.
Noise reduction
ThunderBird uses Level-5 Noise-Dissipation, which benefits a cleaner and more dynamic sound; the main audio/video pairs get Level-3 dissipation. The tight build tolerances needed to sustain 48Gbps make these measures matter even more.
Lengths and use
The cable comes in 0.6 m, 1 m, 1.5 m, 2 m and 3 m lengths. It is the right pick when the system takes its audio from the eARC or ARC output of the television; for gaming it supports the 8K/60 and 4K/120 modes.
