Compact two-driver satellite speaker, sold singly
The Cambridge Audio MSX20 is a passive satellite speaker for anyone building a more ambitious stereo system or a surround set-up who wants more scale and authority while keeping a discreet footprint. Compared with the smaller MSX10 it offers greater presence and depth. The price is for a single speaker: two are needed for stereo listening.
It measures 79 x 155 x 97 mm (width, height, depth) and weighs 0.75 kg. It can be used vertically or horizontally, on a shelf, on the wall or as a centre channel under the television; the wall bracket and rubber feet are included.
Two BMR drivers, one dedicated to bass
The MSX20 has two 2.25-inch full-range Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) drivers: one works as a mid-bass unit, the other is dedicated solely to reinforcing the low frequencies. BMR technology combines the pistonic action of a dynamic drive unit with bending-wave dispersion and spreads sound evenly across the room, reducing dependence on a fixed listening position.
The bass driver and the rigid cabinet, reinforced with die-cast aluminium parts, increase bass extension and output while maintaining clarity. Frequency response runs from 120 Hz to 20 kHz, with a sensitivity of 88 dB (2.83 V).
Stereo, surround and centre channel
With an impedance of 8 ohms and recommended amplifier power from 25 to 200 W, the MSX20 partners a stereo amplifier or an AV receiver. It works as a front, surround or centre speaker in a multichannel system, including alongside MSX10 units.
To extend the low end, Cambridge Audio offers the MSX Sub 200 and MSX Sub 300 active subwoofers in the same series.
Finishes
The MSX20 is available in matte black and matte white, a finish designed for modern interiors and matched to the latest Cambridge Audio products.
Each box contains one speaker.
