Compact half-width network streamer
The Cambridge Audio MXN10 brings high-resolution streaming to any hi-fi or desktop system. It is 215 mm wide, half the width of a traditional component, and is controlled entirely from the StreamMagic app: connect it to an amplifier and streaming services, internet radio and music stored on USB drives or a NAS are all available.
It is the simplest way to add streaming to an existing system, even a vintage one, and forms a compact set-up with the MXW70 power amplifier from the same series.
StreamMagic Gen 4 and supported services
The StreamMagic Gen 4 platform, developed in-house over more than ten years, provides fast, stable playback and is updated over the air. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect (with MQA), Qobuz, Deezer, Amazon Music, internet radio, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast are supported; the MXN10 is Roon Ready.
With Google Home, AirPlay and Roon it joins a multiroom system. The app is used to build playlists, save presets and adjust the 7-band equaliser; the four front-panel buttons can be programmed for instant access to favourite radio stations or playlists.
ESS DAC with analogue and digital outputs
Conversion is handled by the ESS Sabre ES9033Q DAC, with a frequency response from 20 Hz to 70 kHz (+0/-1 dB). The RCA line output connects to any amplifier; the coaxial and optical digital outputs allow an external converter to be used instead.
The MXN10 plays files up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and up to DSD512, in ALAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, DSD, WMA, MP3, AAC and OGG Vorbis formats. Inputs are Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 (SBC and AAC) and a USB socket for mass storage.
Dimensions and accessories
The front panel is aluminium, with a minimalist design and the Lunar Grey finish. The MXN10 measures 215 x 52 x 191 mm (width, height, depth) and weighs 1.2 kg; maximum power consumption is 20 W, standby consumption below 0.5 W.
The box contains two Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antennas, the mains lead, the quick start guide and the safety guide.
