Canvas 83": hi-fi sound system for 83-inch TVs
Canvas is an active stereo loudspeaker designed in Denmark to sit below the television and form a single object with it: in this version the magnetic front is as wide as a 83" TV, that is 185.2 cm. The television is not included; it is fixed to the universal mount supplied, which suits models from the main brands.
Built like a hi-fi loudspeaker
Inside the 24-litre MDF cabinet, stiffened by the BridgeBrace structure, there are two 6.5" SB Acoustics paper-cone woofer/midrange drivers, two 29 mm silk-dome tweeters with a waveguide and two passive radiators. Four channels of class D amplification for 250 W in total, 24-bit/192 kHz converters by Burr-Brown and digital crossovers give a stated response from 28 Hz to 24 kHz.
Room correction and BACCH 3D
Room correction is run from the app, with the iPhone microphone or the optional Zen microphone, and compensates for the bass lift caused by the nearby wall. The BACCH 3D filter reduces crosstalk between the two channels and widens the stereo image even with the drivers this close together.
Connections and installation
It connects to the television over HDMI eARC and follows the TV remote; there are also a Toslink optical input and an analogue one. On the network it receives music through Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Roon, Tidal, Spotify Connect and DLNA. The hybrid support supplied allows floor standing or wall mounting, and the software updates itself over the network.
