Soft-dome treble with an aimable housing
CCM664 offers a tilting tweeter in a two-way ceiling layout.
The Bowers & Wilkins CCM664 pair uses 202 mm openings. Each unit has a 240 mm frame, takes up 133 mm behind the panel and projects 4 mm into the room. These dimensions match several other CCM models, so driver configuration and listening positions become the important selection criteria.

Its distinguishing adjustment
The offset 25 mm soft-dome tweeter can be tilted, and a three-position EQ helps manage off-axis response. A 150 mm woven glass-fibre cone handles bass and midrange. CCM663 shares similar mounting dimensions but uses a Nautilus aluminium dome and an Aramid Fibre cone. CCM665 keeps the glass-fibre and soft-dome combination without the tilting adjustment described for CCM664.
Preparing the ceiling
Nominal impedance of 8 ohms, a 4.5-ohm minimum, 87 dB sensitivity and 25 to 130 W recommended amplification guide electrical matching. The -6 dB range is 45 Hz to 35 kHz. A C6 kit and 6C back box are listed. Measure the clear depth and plan where to aim the tweeter before closing the ceiling: its adjustment is useful when the cut-out cannot be centred over the listener.
When speaker positions must align with ceiling features, the tilting tweeter helps reconcile visual symmetry and sound direction. There is no need to shift a cut-out solely to compensate for off-centre seating if the tweeter and EQ can provide the required adjustment. Check the actual ceiling void and place the controls where they can be reached during final setup.
