The slimmer Monitor XT tower
The Monitor XT60 pair brings music and films to a component system.
The Polk Audio Monitor XT60 pair moves the main channels to the floor. Each tower uses one active 6.5" paper woofer, two passive radiators of the same diameter and a 1" Terylene tweeter. Passive radiators are not additional powered woofers.

A compact tower front stage
At 925 mm high and 230.8 mm deep, the XT60 takes less room than the XT70. Nickel-plated five-way posts need an amplifier or AV receiver. Optional XT90 modules can sit on top of the towers.
Overall response is 38 Hz-40 kHz, with a lower -3 dB limit of 43 Hz. The XT70 moves to two 6.5" woofers and two 8" passive radiators in a larger cabinet. An XT30 or XT35 centre and subwoofer can complete a cinema system.
The three circular elements below the tweeter do not mean three electrically driven woofers. Only the 6.5" driver receives an amplified signal; two passive radiators respond to pressure inside the cabinet. The XT70 has two active bass drivers and requires more room. This pair supplies both left and right channels in a stereo or cinema system. As a stereo pair, these towers form a full front stage; in home cinema they can anchor a system with a separate centre and surrounds. Check the available top surface before adding XT90 height modules. Those modules are separate passive speakers and need dedicated amplified height outputs from a compatible AV receiver. The XT60 cabinet itself remains a conventional floorstanding speaker. Its shallower cabinet is easier to accommodate than the XT70, though both speakers still need stable floor positions and access for cables.
