The Element centre channel with twin 6-inch Torrent drivers
Totem Element Wood V2 is the dedicated centre speaker for the Element series, using two 6-inch Torrent woofers and a titanium tweeter.
Its purpose is to integrate Metal V2 and Fire V2 into a multichannel system while preserving the same driver philosophy and phase behaviour. The horizontal cabinet is designed specifically for centre-channel duties and combines high sensitivity, a nominal 6-ohm load and extension down to 42 Hz.
Key features
- Two-way centre channel for Element systems.
- 2 x 6-inch Torrent woofers.
- High frequencies handled by a 1-inch titanium tweeter.
- Specified frequency response of 42 Hz-22 kHz.
- 92 dB sensitivity and 6-ohm nominal impedance.
- Recommended amplifier power up to 200 W.
- Only the high-frequency section uses a first-order crossover network.
- Bi-wireable WBT terminals and a cabinet roughly 70 cm wide.
A centre voice matched to the Element family
The two Torrent drivers run without crossover components in their own path, while the tweeter is integrated through a first-order network. The aim is not simply output level, but transient and tonal consistency with the Element front speakers so that dialogue and effects can move across the front stage without obvious changes in character.
Why it does not replace Metal V2 or Fire V2
Wood V2 is specialised for centre-channel use and should not be treated as a stereo alternative. Metal V2 is the floorstanding main speaker and Fire V2 the standmount monitor; Wood V2 completes either in a cinema or multichannel system. Its 92 dB sensitivity also helps preserve useful dynamic headroom during dense dialogue and effects.
Installation and system matching
The horizontal enclosure needs a rigid support or properly sized platform beneath the screen. A nominal 6-ohm load is not particularly severe, but stable amplification from an AV power stage or processor/amplifier combination will make better use of the twin Torrent section. It is intended primarily for high-quality cinema rooms built around the Element series. Its almost 70 cm width allows the two woofers to flank the tweeter across a broad front, making it suitable beneath larger screens while keeping vertical height low enough for practical cinema installation.
