Rock Monitor 60SM is a rock-shaped garden loudspeaker that plays both stereo channels from one cabinet: a 165 mm dual voice-coil woofer and two titanium-dome tweeters in a sealed shell that stands up to rain, sun and bad weather.

The Rock Monitor 60SM has separate left and right inputs feeding the two voice coils of its one woofer and a pair of tweeters, one for each channel. A single installation point is therefore enough for the full stereo programme, which helps in a garden where two widely spaced speakers are not practical. It can also be driven in mono: wired that way it suits 4 ohm amplifiers, whereas in stereo each channel presents an 8 ohm load.
The two PTD tweeters use 25 mm domes of pure titanium, sit coaxially in front of the woofer and are angled by 30° so that a broad listening zone is covered. The 165 mm woofer has an ICP cone of injection-moulded co-polymer polypropylene, a die-cast aluminium basket and an oversized ferrite magnet. A pair of second-order filters cross over at 3.0 kHz; on-axis response stays within ±2 dB between 66 Hz and 20 kHz, and bass extension reaches 44 Hz (DIN).
The cabinet is PolyGlass with an imitation stone finish: it is fully closed, with no reflex ports, and heavily damped. Grilles are stainless steel, and the fissures in the rock let water run off by themselves. It measures 31.1 × 28.3 × 27.0 cm, weighs 5.5 kg and has a sensitivity of 89 dB, taken as a groundplane figure. Paradigm recommends amplifiers of 15 to 100 W in mono, or 15 to 55 W per channel when wired for stereo.
