Stylus470 is a two-way outdoor loudspeaker with a 190 mm mid/bass unit and 93 dB sensitivity, sold as a pair: a closed, weatherproof PolyGlass box for bringing sound to large open spaces.
Stylus470: what is inside
What sets the Stylus470 apart is its 93 dB sensitivity: for the same power it plays louder than a less efficient speaker, and outdoors, where no walls support the sound, that is a real advantage. The impedance suits 8 ohm amplifiers; suggested power runs from 15 to 110 W, with a maximum input of 80 W.
There are two drive units: a mid/bass unit with a 190 mm ICP cone on a die-cast basket and a PTD tweeter with a 25 mm dome, crossed over at 2.3 kHz by a third-order electro-acoustic filter. Quoted response falls within ±2 dB between 75 Hz and 20 kHz on axis and between 75 Hz and 18 kHz at 30° off axis. Bass extension goes down to 50 Hz (DIN).
The cabinet is PolyGlass, which Paradigm rates as resistant to bad weather, water and ultraviolet light, and it is an acoustic suspension design, hence fully closed. It measures 32.1 × 22.5 × 22.2 cm and weighs 4.8 kg: size and weight to bear in mind when choosing where to fix it.
