The pair of Bowers & Wilkins 703 S3 speakers brings Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top and a Continuum FST midrange to a cabinet with two 165 mm Aerofoil bass drivers. It sits between the 702 S3 and 704 S3 floorstanders: the main driver diameters match the 702 S3, but there is one fewer woofer and the cabinet is less deep. Both speakers stand on the floor with their plinths.

What changes inside
The 25 mm Carbon Dome sits above the enclosure rather than in its front baffle. A decoupled 150 mm midrange and twin Aerofoil bass cones divide the work across three ways, with Flowport tuning the cabinet. The 704 S3 omits the top-mounted module and moves to 130 mm drivers. The 703 S3 therefore preserves the Tweeter-on-Top arrangement without moving up to the 702 S3's three woofers.
Dimensions and placement
The cabinet is 192 mm wide and 316 mm deep. Its plinth increases those figures to 290 mm and 372 mm, and total height with tweeter and plinth is 1117 mm. Each weighs 28.81 kg. These full measurements matter more than baffle width alone when allowing space between speakers, routing cables and checking the floor area.
Sensitivity is 90 dB and the ±3 dB response spans 46 Hz-28 kHz, the same figures listed for the 702 S3; that does not make the two cabinets identical. Here there are two woofers and the recommended amplifier range is 30-200 W rather than the 702 S3's 30-300 W. Account for the 3.1-ohm minimum impedance when selecting an integrated or power amplifier. The 703 S3 cabinet is 316 mm deep before grille and terminals, compared with 354 mm for the 702 S3. With their plinths, the respective figures are 372 and 410 mm. If furniture or a walkway limits placement, compare these complete footprints as well as the number of bass cones. Both towers still need access for rear cables.
