The Paradigm Premier 200B is a two-way reflex standmount loudspeaker, sold as a pair: a 165 mm mid/bass unit, a 25 mm X-PAL dome tweeter and an on-axis response that starts at 55 Hz.
Premier 200B: what is inside
The heart of the Premier 200B is its 165 mm mid/bass unit: a carbon-filled polypropylene cone, an ART surround and a perforated PPA lens fitted ahead of the diaphragm. It handles everything below 2.0 kHz, the frequency at which a second-order electro-acoustic filter hands the signal to the tweeter. That tweeter has a 25 mm X-PAL dome, relies on ferrofluid for damping and cooling, and carries a PPA lens of its own for phase alignment.
The cabinet is reflex tuned, measures 33.5 × 19.8 × 32.1 cm and weighs 8.17 kg: plan for a stand, which is not part of the package. In return for that volume, quoted on-axis response spans 55 Hz to 25 kHz within ±3 dB, with a lower limit of 45 Hz to the DIN standard. At 30° off axis the stated band is 55 Hz - 20 kHz, again within ±3 dB.
As for amplification, the 200B is rated at 90 dB sensitivity in room (87 dB anechoic) with an impedance that suits 8 ohm outputs. The maker recommends amplifiers between 15 and 130 W and sets the maximum input power at 80 W. It is offered in more than one finish.
