Focal 100 IWLCR5: 2-way in-wall LCR loudspeaker
In-wall loudspeaker for the left, centre and right channels of a home cinema system, also usable horizontally below or above the screen. The D'Appolito layout, with the tweeter between two 13 cm Polyglass woofers, handles power well and controls directivity. A three-position switch assigns the left, centre or right function, for the same tonal balance at the listening position.
The inverted-dome tweeter can be aimed; separate correctors for treble and midrange adapt the response to the room.
The Polyglass membrane, a Focal exclusive, is a cellulose cone coated with glass microbeads: the stiffness of glass adds to the damping of paper, for a clean, uncoloured midrange. The treble is handled by an aluminium inverted-dome tweeter, a Focal signature since 1981, which gives wide dispersion and very low directivity.
Installation
Shallow mounting depth, optimised fixing brackets and a one-piece frame: installation is quick. The magnetic grille is ready to be painted in the colour of the wall or ceiling.
