Focal Sopra N°2 - Finitura Speciale

Focal Sopra N°2 in wood: 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker

A floorstanding loudspeaker with a 16.5 cm W midrange and two 18 cm W woofers, in a cabinet with a small footprint. It is suited to living rooms of up to 30 square metres and copes with spaces of up to 70.

The Sopra series brings many solutions from the Utopia line into a smaller size. The tweeter is a 27 mm inverted dome in pure beryllium; to give its best it would need an almost infinite volume behind it, and the IHL system (Infinite Horn Loading) simulates one while leaving the whole cabinet volume to the bass. The cones are W sandwich designs. The midrange has TMD suspension and the NIC magnetic circuit (Neutral Inductance Circuit), which keeps the magnetic field stable and distortion low.

Cabinet

A central polyurethane section tilts the upper and lower parts of the cabinet towards each other, so the drivers converge on the listening position (Focus Time). The cabinets are built in France by Focal's cabinet-makers and topped with tempered glass. The decoupling spikes, left in view, are made by watchmaking specialists.

Partners

For home cinema the series offers the Sopra Center, the Surround BE surrounds and the SW 1000 BE subwoofer, with the same drivers and therefore the same tone.
