Fyne Audio F500S

Fyne Audio F500S: 2-way standmount speakers with a 150 mm IsoFlare driver

The F500S is the bookshelf model of the Fyne Audio F500S Series, which adopts the latest development of the IsoFlare point source driver. The maker suggests it for music listening and for home cinema where space is limited. Sold as a pair.

The high-frequency section has a neodymium magnet, a vented chamber at the rear and a magnesium diaphragm: measures that cut resonance and carry the response past 30 kHz. The multi-fibre bass cone is held by a FyneFlute surround. The patented BassTrax system with Tractrix diffuser, built into the cabinet, spreads bass through 360 degrees and makes the speaker less sensitive to its position in the room. A presence switch on the back adjusts the soundstage by +/- 3 dB between 2.5 and 5.0 kHz.

Technical data

Suggested amplifier power runs from 30 to 100 W RMS; the speaker takes 50 W RMS continuously. The crossover point sits at 1.7 kHz, using a second-order low-pass filter and a first-order high-pass filter. Each cabinet measures 325 x 204 x 317 mm (height x width x depth) and weighs 8.3 kg: both figures refer to a single speaker.
