Fyne Audio F501SP: 2.5-way floorstanding speakers with a 150 mm IsoFlare driver

The F501SP is the Special Production edition of the F501 floorstander, made in the UK. It keeps the cabinet of the model it comes from and takes on engineering created for the F700 range. Sold as a pair.

The IsoFlare point source unit has a 150 mm multi-fibre cone for bass and midrange, held by a FyneFlute surround and matched to a compression tweeter whose magnesium dome measures 25 mm; a 150 mm woofer works beside it. The crossover has been revised, and the aluminium sandwich plinth adds stability while refining the BassTrax port that faces the floor. The terminal panel carries a fifth post that grounds the driver chassis and lowers the effect of radio-frequency interference. The aluminium chassis has diamond-cut detailing and the plinth is machined from anodised aluminium.

Technical data

Suggested amplifier power runs from 30 to 180 W RMS; the speaker takes 80 W RMS continuously. The crossover points sit at 250 Hz and 1.7 kHz, using a second-order low-pass filter and a first-order high-pass filter. Each cabinet measures 984 x 288 x 320 mm (height x width x depth) and weighs 21.0 kg: both figures refer to a single speaker.

The F501SP comes in four finishes: Black Piano Gloss and White Piano Gloss, along with Walnut Piano Gloss and Natural Walnut.
