The Signature 10 is a high-end belt-drive turntable that pairs a very heavy platter with magnetic decoupling and carries a 10-inch unipivot tonearm. It is supplied without a cartridge, for listeners who prefer to choose their own.
Signature 10: mass and magnetic suspension
The platter weighs 10.4 kg and is diamond-turned from one block of aluminium, then damped with TPE; its upper face carries a vinyl layer on which the record rests. It spins on an inverted bearing with a ceramic ball and plate, partly relieved by a magnetic suspension that lowers friction and rolling noise.
The tonearm is Pro-Ject's own design: a 10-inch unipivot with an S-shaped aluminium tube, non-magnetic low-resonance construction and an SME-mount headshell. Arm height (VTA) and mounting distance are continuously adjustable, even while a record is playing. With the set of counterweights supplied it takes cartridges from 4 to 10 g, and its effective mass is 18.5 g.
Switching between 33 and 45 rpm takes one button, and rotational stability is handled by a precision generator feeding the motor. The feet use magnetic fields to isolate the whole deck from the surface it stands on. It arrives in a wooden crate with a Connect it 5P cable, a 405 g record puck, an adapter for 7-inch singles, an Allen key, a spirit level and gloves.
