Hegel H200

Hegel H200: integrated amplifier with 150 W per channel, streaming and D/A converter

Hegel H200 is a stereo integrated amplifier that gathers amplification, network player, D/A converter, MM phono input and headphone output in a single unit. Hegel places it alongside the A200, which is entirely analogue: the H200 is the connected version of the pair.

The power section is analogue, in class A/B, and uses SoundEngine 2 technology, which finds distortion where it arises and cancels it before it carries on along the signal path. The phono input derives from the MM section of the V10 preamplifier and employs gain stages with hand-matched FET transistors. The main digital components are mounted on separate boards, to hold noise away from the analogue stages. The DAC Loop function allows an external converter to be added later.
