Isolation feet for floorstanding speakers
IsoAcoustics Gaia is a family of isolation feet that thread into the base of floorstanding speakers and subwoofers, replacing the original spikes or feet. Each foot houses the patented IsoAcoustics isolators in a machined stainless steel body with a dark chrome finish: it provides a high degree of isolation while resisting lateral movement and oscillation, so the speaker stays aligned with the listening position.
Only the lower isolator touches the floor, not the metal housing: vibrations find no rigid path to the supporting surface, and the reflections that travel back up into the cabinet are attenuated, to the benefit of clarity, openness and focus. The Gaia series received the EISA 2019-2020 award in the Hi-Fi Upgrade category.
Gaia I, II, III and Gaia-Titan: how to choose
The model is chosen by the weight of the speaker. For Gaia I, II and III the weight limit is stated per set of four feet and is based on the performance curve: IsoAcoustics advises against exceeding it and, within 10 % of the limit, recommends the next size up. The Gaia-Titan models bring the same technology to heavier speakers, up to 280 kg.
Each model includes adaptors for three thread sizes; others can be requested through the distributor. Without threaded inserts in the base of the speaker the Gaia is not recommended.
Installation and accessories
The right threaded stud is tightened into the Gaia with the wrench provided, then threaded into the base of the speaker for at least four complete turns and secured with the lock nuts. The isolators are directional: the logo should face the listening position, or be rotated 180°.
On thick carpet the stainless steel Carpet Discs are needed, with 15 mm spikes that reach the floor: they are fitted last. The plate adaptors replace the casters of the listed Bowers & Wilkins speakers; the M12-1.25 stud required is included with the Gaia I, while for the Gaia-Titan it has to be requested separately.
