The evolution of the Gaia isolation feet
IsoAcoustics Gaia Neo is the new generation of the Gaia isolation feet for floorstanding speakers and subwoofers. It replaces the factory-fitted feet or spikes and decouples the speaker from the supporting surface, to eliminate the distortion caused by vibrations and reflections. Compared with the original Gaia models, which remain in the range, it adds seamless height adjustment, refined internal isolators, simpler installation and two finishes: black and dark chrome.
As with the Gaia, only the lower isolator touches the floor: energy is managed through the isolator rather than through the metal housing, with less vibration passed into the floor and fewer reflections back into the cabinet. The internal isolators have been revised in shape, thickness and durometer; IsoAcoustics states improvements in clarity, focus and low-frequency definition.
Height adjustment and stable contact
Rotating the lower ring raises or lowers the foot by up to 8.5 mm without affecting its alignment: this is used to level the speaker, fine-tune its angle and spread the weight evenly across the four supports. The lower isolator can also pivot, so it keeps full contact even on floors that are not perfectly level.
Installation needs no lock nuts: the threaded adaptor goes into the base of the speaker, then the Gaia Neo is screwed onto the adaptor until the integrated O-ring compresses and the foot sits firmly. A compression washer is included for bases with limited contact surface. The isolators are directional and the logo, applied on both sides, should be aligned with the front of the speaker.
Floor Sliders for positioning the speakers
Floor Sliders are included, to be placed under each foot so the speaker can be slid into its final position: on carpet they are used as they are, on hard floors with the adhesive felt pads supplied. Once the position is set, the speaker is tilted one side at a time and the sliders are removed.
Installation requires threaded inserts in the base of the speaker: without a thread the Gaia Neo cannot be fitted. Each model includes adaptors for three thread sizes; other sizes can be requested through the dealer or the distributor.
Models, weight limits and sizes
The model is chosen by the weight of the speaker: the weight limit is based on the performance curve, not on the load the foot can bear, and IsoAcoustics advises against exceeding it. All models are sold in sets of four feet, in a Black or Dark chrome finish.
