JL Audio MV600/2i: marine 2-channel amplifier with DSP, 600 W
The MV600/2i is the marine 2-channel amplifier with DSP, 600 W in the JL Audio MVi marine series. It delivers 180 W RMS per channel at 4 ohms and 300 W RMS per channel at 2 ohms; bridged it reaches 600 W RMS on one channel at 4 ohms (figures with a 14.4 V supply).
It has a full DSP on board and no knobs or switches: every adjustment is made from the free TüN software.
Key features
- 2 channels: 180 W RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, 300 W RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
- Bridged: 600 W RMS x 1 at 4 ohms; response 12 Hz-24 kHz
- Built-in DSP: equaliser, delays, crossovers, routing and mixing
- Class D with NexD2 technology
- JLid protocol for control and communication
- Footprint 285 x 176 x 52 mm, weight 2.27 kg
- IPX2 protection when mounted vertically with connections facing down
DSP and TüN software
Every MVi amplifier with DSP offers a full package of tuning functions: equaliser, delays, crossovers, signal routing and mixing. TüN is the free JL Audio software used for setup and for all audio adjustments; it can be downloaded for computers and for most handheld devices. A USB cable is in the package.
NexD2 technology
The fast-switching NexD2 stage synchronises the power supply with the output channels of the amplifier: fidelity is at its highest, noise and distortion are kept to a minimum, with high power and efficiency.
Inputs and protection
The differential-balanced inputs also accept the high-level signal from speaker outputs, with no converter, and reject noise. If temperature climbs too high, the protection circuit lowers power instead of shutting the amplifier down: music carries on even in the toughest conditions.
JLid and accessories
JLid is the proprietary JL Audio protocol for control and communication of settings between MVi amplifiers and JLid accessories, which are optional. With the MVi-HUB, sold separately, several amplifiers show up on a network in a single TüN session and are commanded from one optional digital controller.
Installation
It measures 285 x 176 mm in plan and 52 mm in height, at 2.27 kg. It runs on 10 to 15 V DC; the indicated fuse is 50 A, AFS, AGU or MaxiFuse type, and the power and ground cable 4 AWG copper at least. The series goes beyond international standards for salt and UV exposure.
