Jukebox E1 HiFi Set: what the set includes
Three items make up the package. First comes the Juke Box E1, a belt-driven deck that also contains a phono stage, a Bluetooth receiver, a line preamplifier and a 2 x 50 W power stage rated into 4 ohms. Second are the Speaker Box 5 E, two-way bass-reflex monitors voiced for clean bass and intended as the natural match for this deck. Third is the 3 m Connect it LS E Flex cable that joins them. A remote with batteries, a felt mat, the dust cover and the power supply round off the contents.
The turntable arrives ready adjusted: downforce and anti-skating are set at the factory for the Ortofon OM 5E already mounted on the 8.6-inch aluminium arm, which has sapphire bearings and a redesigned headshell. The 300 mm platter is anti-resonant ABS and rests on a stainless steel spindle with a bronze bush; a damped DC motor turns it through a silicone belt, and the two speeds are selected electronically. Damp it feet keep vibration from the furniture away from the chassis.
Once the loudspeakers are wired to the terminals the system is ready. As well as vinyl you can listen to a Bluetooth device and to an analogue source plugged into the line input. The line output, on gold-plated sockets, passes the turntable signal alone to another component: Pro-Ject gives a headphone amplifier like the Head Box S2 as an example, bought separately. The high-contrast display reads from above. Each loudspeaker measures 160 x 255 x 210 mm. The set is offered in several finishes.
