Landscape-format in-wall speaker with 160 mm Uni-Q® driver
The KEF Ci160.2CL is a two-way in-wall speaker in landscape format from the Ci-C series, designed to offer KEF audio quality in installations where the wide horizontal format is preferable or necessary. Sold singly, it is fitted with a 160 mm (6.5") woofer with a 16 mm (0.6") aluminium dome tweeter with tangerine waveguide in a Uni-Q® configuration, for a frequency response from 52 Hz to 20 kHz. The Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) and the paintable magnetic grille ensure discreet aesthetic integration, while the IP64 certification also makes it suitable for environments subject to humidity and UV rays. The optional RIF160L pre-installation frame and the optional RNC160L rear enclosure complete the installation options.
Uni-Q®: even dispersion in in-wall installations too
The 160 mm Uni-Q® driver places the 16 mm aluminium dome tweeter exactly at the acoustic centre of the woofer, so that the two act as a single point source. KEF's "sit anywhere" technology provides wide, even sound dispersion throughout the room, allowing the listener to hear the sound with full fidelity regardless of their position relative to the speaker — a particularly valuable feature in in-wall installations, where the listening axis is often oblique.
Shallow mounting depth, versatile horizontal format
With a sensitivity of 89 dB, a response that extends down to 52 Hz and compatibility with amplifiers from 10 to 100 W into 8 Ω, the Ci160.2CL is suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, home theatre rooms and any room that calls for high-level audio performance in a discreet in-wall format. The mounting depth of only 84.5 mm — exceptionally shallow for a 6.5" speaker — allows it to be installed where other speakers in the same class would not find space.
Flexible installation with a minimum thickness of 3 mm
With external dimensions of 303 × 223 mm and a depth of 88.7 mm, the Ci160.2CL requires a cut-out of 274 × 194 mm and fits walls with a thickness from 3 to 30 mm. The optional RIF160L pre-installation frame simplifies fitting during construction, while the optional RNC160L rear enclosure improves the low-frequency response and the acoustic isolation from the cavity.
