THX Certified Ultra flush-mount loudspeaker for high-end Home Cinema

The KEF Ci5120QLM-THX is a THX® Ultra certified architectural flush-mount loudspeaker, designed to deliver Home Cinema performance of the very highest level in large rooms. Sold singly, it incorporates the 12th-generation Uni-Q® driver with MAT™ (Metamaterial Absorption Technology) to ensure powerful, controlled and incredibly detailed cinematic sound, with an aesthetic integration that disappears into the wall.

Designed as an LCR (Left, Centre, Right) loudspeaker, it can be used as the left, centre or right channel in high-end THX multichannel systems, ensuring perfect tonal coherence between all the front channels. It is the ideal solution for 3.0, 3.1, 5.1, 7.1, 9.2 configurations and beyond, in dedicated Home Cinema rooms or large, prestigious living rooms.

Uni-Q® Gen 12 with MAT™: crystal-clear dialogue and a stable soundstage

The 12th-generation Uni-Q® driver places the 19 mm vented aluminium tweeter with MAT™ exactly at the acoustic centre of the 100 mm midrange, creating a single point source for wide and even sound dispersion of up to 150°. In large Home Cinema rooms this translates into a stable and engaging soundstage for all viewers, regardless of listening position.

MAT™ technology absorbs up to 99% of the unwanted sound waves generated at the rear of the tweeter, eliminating distortions and resonances for a transparency and dialogue intelligibility that are hard to achieve in a flush-mount loudspeaker.

High sound pressure level, deep bass and THX Ultra certification

The two 120 mm woofers designed specifically for THX applications offer high excursion and low distortion, ensuring deep and energetic bass down to 42 Hz even at high sound pressure levels. The maximum SPL of 105 dB, the sensitivity of 89 dB and the compatibility with amplifiers from 25 to 250 W into 4 Ω ensure authoritative dynamics even over long listening distances.

THX® Ultra certification — the highest level of THX certification — guarantees authentic cinematic performance, faithful to the original intent of directors and sound designers, in rooms with substantial acoustic volumes.

Discreet architectural integration and flexible installation

The paintable magnetic metal grille and the Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) frame allow a practically invisible aesthetic integration into the wall or ceiling. The loudspeaker requires a mounting depth of just 90 mm and suits wall thicknesses from 6 to 36 mm, with an ideal rear volume of 40 L (minimum 20 L) to obtain the optimum bass performance.

The Ci5120QLM-THX is conceived to work in perfect synergy with the other loudspeakers of the KEF Custom Q series, sharing the same Uni-Q® technology with MAT™ for absolute tonal coherence across all channels. Paired with surround loudspeakers and a dedicated subwoofer, it delivers a reference Home Cinema experience, with a sonic impact and an aesthetic cleanness that are hard to obtain with visible solutions.
