The KEF R2 Meta is the most compact centre channel in the R Meta Series, designed for high-end Home Cinema systems and versatile enough to work as an LCR (Left-Centre-Right), horizontally or vertically. The 3-way closed-box design allows simple integration even inside furniture, guaranteeing crystal-clear dialogue, tonal coherence and impeccable control, both in the most dynamic films and in music.
12th-generation Uni-Q with MAT™
At the centre of the design is the coaxial 12th-generation Uni-Q driver (25 mm vented aluminium tweeter + 125 mm midrange), now paired with MAT™ (Metamaterial Absorption Technology). This solution absorbs up to 99% of the unwanted resonances behind the tweeter, increasing transparency, naturalness and speech intelligibility. The even dispersion typical of Uni-Q widens the listening area, keeping the soundstage stable even off axis.
Controlled bass, inert cabinet and maximum integration
The low frequencies are entrusted to two 130 mm woofers in hybrid aluminium, with generous excursion and very low distortion. The cabinet uses the Flexible Decoupling Chassis to reduce vibrations and colouration, while the Shadow Flare minimises diffraction on the front baffle. The Black Gloss, White Gloss and Walnut finishes, with tone-on-tone microperforated magnetic grilles, complete an elegant speaker that integrates perfectly with the R5, R7, R11, R3, R6 and R8 Meta.
