The KEF Reference 8b is the High-End Hi-Fi subwoofer designed to partner the Reference Meta Series and take bass extension to absolute reference levels. Thanks to powerful Class D amplification with 1000 W in total (2 × 500 W) and two 225 mm long-excursion drivers, the Reference 8b offers very deep, controlled and distortion-free bass, reaching down to 18 Hz (-6 dB). Compact for its class, it delivers surprising realism both in 2.1 stereo and in multichannel Home Cinema of the very highest level.
Force Cancelling and Total System Design
The Reference 8b adopts Force Cancelling technology, with the two woofers arranged in an opposed configuration to cancel the mechanical vibrations of the cabinet. The result is clean, linear and uncoloured output, even at high sound pressure levels. The design is part of KEF's Total System Design philosophy: an extremely rigid cabinet, dedicated drivers, advanced DSP and an oversized power supply work in perfect synergy to guarantee speed, control and absolute precision.
Complete connectivity and uncompromising integration
Intended for reference-grade stereo and cinema systems, the Reference 8b offers mono/stereo RCA inputs, balanced XLR and high-level inputs, as well as variable low-pass filters, selectable slopes, LFE mode, phase/polarity control and presets dedicated to placement. The Deep Piano Black finish matches it perfectly to the Reference Meta speakers, making it the ideal partner for 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 configurations and beyond.
