A dedicated player for listeners who still choose CD
M2scd plays CDs through a slot-loading mechanism, 24-bit Delta-Sigma conversion and 8x oversampling.
M2scd is built for a physical collection and performs one precise task: extracting the signal from a CD and delivering it to an amplifier through a straightforward path. It is not a network player and does not accept external digital sources. The slot mechanism removes the drawer, the Delta-Sigma converter feeds the RCA analogue output, and optical and coaxial outputs allow the player to act as a transport with a separate DAC.
Key features
- Slot-loading CD player
- 24-bit Delta-Sigma conversion
- Eight-times oversampling
- Stereo RCA analogue output
- Optical and coaxial digital outputs
- Remote control, black or silver finish
Complete player or dedicated transport
Connected through RCA, M2scd uses its own conversion and feeds an amplifier line input directly. Its coaxial or optical output instead sends the digital stream to an external DAC, useful for comparing converters or upgrading the system without replacing the mechanism. Neither route requires complicated settings, leaving the owner to decide where conversion should take place.
The mechanism comes before network features
A CD player must read the disc consistently, maintain a stable stream and remain quiet near the listening position. M2scd concentrates on those tasks and its SMD layout rather than adding apps, Wi-Fi or an oversized display. It suits someone with a substantial disc collection who prefers selecting an album, inserting it and listening without accounts or software updates.
The natural partner for M2si
Dimensions, finishes and remote control make M2scd the visual and functional companion to the M2si integrated amplifier. The pair keeps disc reading and amplification separate: the player can feed one of six analogue inputs while future sources remain independent. M2scd works equally well with other amplifiers or DACs; its value depends on a real CD collection, not on buying a matching stack.
