Dynamo 10 is a powered closed-box subwoofer with a 25.4 cm aluminium woofer, a 500 W amplifier and a built-in wireless receiver: compact, suited to any system and designed to keep up with MartinLogan loudspeakers.
Dynamo 10: driver, electronics and cabinet
A single forward-facing driver does all the work: a long-throw 25.4 cm anodised aluminium cone on a pressed-steel basket, optimised through Klippel analysis to combine high output with low distortion. Aluminium brings stiffness, low weight and good heat dispersal, three useful qualities when there is little air volume to work with. The cabinet is sealed and the stated response covers 23-120 Hz within ±3 dB, measured anechoically through the LFE input.
The electronics comprise the Magnitude MT-1kW amplifier, rated at 500 W continuous and 1,000 W peak, and the 500 MHz, 64-bit Vojtko DSP that supervises its behaviour moment by moment. The rear panel keeps the backlit level knob and the test sweep button; everything else is set from the Subwoofer Control application: low-pass frequency and slope, phase from 0° to 180°, polarity, Movie, Music and Night modes, level between 20 and 30 Hz. ARC calibration is supported, using a microphone and computer that are not included.
The wireless transmitter is supplied and talks to the internal receiver, with lossless transmission and short latency. Alternatively there are left and right RCA inputs, LFE on RCA and XLR, high-level terminals and an output for linking another subwoofer, all usable at the same time. The MDF front panel is 25.4 mm thick and strengthened where the woofer is fixed. The anti-vibration feet reduce the energy passed into the floor and, on carpet, can be completed with the supplied spikes. Offered in more than one finish.
