3 amps for the source end, streamers, DACs, preamps and small integrated amplifiers
BPC3 is a 3 A balanced mains conditioner with 4 outlets across 2 isolated zones.
BPC3 is sized for the source end, streamers, DACs, preamps and small integrated amplifiers. It provides 4 outlets across 2 isolated zones and a maximum total current of 3 A, allocated as two equal 300 VA . Its 600 VA balanced toroidal transformer reduces common-mode noise and separates outlet groups; overload and surge protection operate without fuses in the ground path. Selection starts with actual consumption rather than socket count.
Key features
- Two identical 300 VA banks
- Four outlets in total
- 3 A overall allowance
- Quiet 600 VA toroid
- Ground path without protection fuse
A conditioner for sources
BPC3 is for products that consume little yet can exchange disturbance: streamer, converter, preamplifier and phono stage. Two equal halves put digital equipment on one side and analogue on the other while keeping wiring easy to understand.
Three amps is a useful boundary
Overall capacity makes clear that this is not the natural home for a muscular power amplifier. A small integrated may fit after checking its rating and allowing start-up margin. When amplification dominates consumption, BPC5 is the logical step.
Desktop and compact systems
Four sockets neatly cover a headphone station, desktop chain or essential stereo. A 400 mm-deep enclosure weighing 11.7 kg still needs a real shelf; it is not an adapter to hide behind furniture.
Establish whether it helps
Connect one source first and observe background noise, stability and hum, then add the other devices. This method separates mains disturbance from noisy USB, a ground loop or a defective wall supply. The system should be planned with adequate space, ventilation and electrical capacity before installation. In a personal studio, the first zone can serve audio computer and DAC, the second a phono stage and turntable. Separation prevents switching supplies and analogue loads sharing one group. A small integrated amplifier is suitable only after checking peak consumption; this model is primarily for front-end electronics.
