A flat-profile sealed active subwoofer with two opposed woofers and a built-in Class D amplifier: it can lie flat, stand upright on its base or hide under the sofa, and it reaches down to 21 Hz.
MilleniaSub: two opposed woofers
The MilleniaSub is a subwoofer made to disappear. Lying on its feet it is 14 cm high with a footprint of 46.7 × 35.6 cm; upright on its base it measures 38.1 cm in height and 22.2 cm across. Besides the classic positions, between the front speakers, next to one of them or near the rear wall, it can therefore slide under the sofa. Hanging it on the wall, on the other hand, calls for the dedicated bracket, an accessory bought separately.
What makes this possible is the driver layout: two elongated 355 × 76 mm woofers mounted back to back, whose cones are reinforced polymer, with corrugated surrounds in Santoprene and 25 mm voice coils. As they move in opposite directions, the forces the two cones pass into the cabinet cancel each other out, and with them much of the resonance and distortion, wherever the subwoofer happens to be placed. The cabinet is sealed, with no ports.
The built-in amplifier is an Ultra-Class-D design, for which the Italian distributor quotes 300 W continuous and 900 W peak; it has automatic switch-on, soft clipping and temperature monitoring. Quoted response runs from 24 to 150 Hz within ±3 dB, with extension to 21 Hz (DIN). The low-pass filter adjusts from 35 to 150 Hz and can be bypassed, and phase is variable between 0° and 180°. There is a USB port dedicated to room equalisation; the Anthem Room Correction (ARC) system is purchased separately. The model is offered in more than one finish.
