The Reference bookshelf that can become a main, surround or the heart of a 2.1 system
Perlisten R4b is a 3-way acoustic-suspension bookshelf loudspeaker with a three-dome 26 mm silk DPC Array and a 165 mm HPF woofer.
R4b is the most compact cabinet/stand entry point to R-Series, yet it is not limited to near-field listening. It can work as a main loudspeaker in a smaller room, form part of a 2.1 system or act as a surround that remains timbre-matched with larger Reference towers and centres.
Key features
- 3-way Reference R-Series bookshelf loudspeaker.
- DPC Array with three 26 mm silk domes.
- 165 mm HPF woofer.
- Acoustic-suspension cabinet.
- 84.6 dB sensitivity and 4-ohm nominal impedance.
- Frequency response extending to 45 Hz-32 kHz (-10 dB).
- Recommended amplifier power from 50 to 200 W RMS.
- THX Ultra certification.
Compact, but not only for a bookshelf
R4b can sit on an optional stand or be wall-mounted using the optional tilt/swivel bracket. Its format suits smaller rooms and 2.1 systems, while R-Series timbre matching also allows it to work as a surround in substantially larger installations.
The Reference platform at a smaller scale
The DPC Array uses three 26 mm silk domes and the 165 mm woofer uses HPF material. These are the same core choices used by larger R-Series models, concentrated into a sealed and more compact enclosure so the family character remains intact with a single woofer.
Sealed cabinet and placement
Acoustic suspension removes reflex ports and makes behaviour easier to manage close to walls. Rated response reaches 45 Hz at -10 dB, with typical in-room extension to 38 Hz: enough for many systems, or easily complemented by a subwoofer.
Dimensions and amplification
R4b measures 230 mm wide, 382 mm high and 236 mm deep and weighs 9.5 kg. Its 84.6 dB sensitivity benefits from capable amplification; recommended power is between 50 and 200 W RMS.
