Reserve R500: the slimmer floorstander
The floorstanding pair uses two 5.25" drivers per speaker for stereo and cinema.
The pair of Polk Audio Reserve R500 speakers provides a floorstanding front stage without the size of the R600 or R700. In each tower a 1" Pinnacle Ring Radiator tweeter works with two 5.25" Turbine Cone woofers. It suits listeners who want floor placement while keeping the front stage relatively compact.
Including its base and feet, each tower measures 255.4 x 1044.5 x 348.8 mm and weighs 17.7 kg. Spikes and pads let you choose the appropriate contact for the floor. This passive speaker needs a stereo amplifier or AV receiver and connects through one set of five-way binding posts.

The first tower in the Reserve range
The R500 uses a rear X-Port with resonators. The R600 moves to two 6.5" Turbine Cone woofers and a floor-firing port; the R700 adds a separate pair of 8" bass drivers. Here the stated overall response is 35 Hz-50 kHz and the lower -3 dB limit is 49 Hz.
Check clearance behind the rear port before settling on the towers' final positions. A multichannel front stage can be completed with a Reserve centre and compatible R900 height modules, sold separately. The pair also forms a standalone stereo system.
For stereo listening, the spacing and angle between the towers affect the soundstage. Try their position with the main seat before finalising furniture placement or cable runs.
