Reserve R900: the height channels
The pair of passive modules adds two height channels to a compatible system.
The pair of Polk Audio Reserve R900 modules adds two height channels to a suitably equipped home cinema system. Each sealed module contains a 0.75" Pinnacle Ring Radiator tweeter and a 4" Turbine Cone woofer. This is not a conventional front speaker: it works with an AV receiver and immersive soundtracks, placed on top of a speaker or fixed to a wall.
It can sit on compatible Reserve R200, R500, R600 or R700 speakers, or be wall mounted. A rear switch selects the operating mode for its position; the AV receiver also needs the corresponding channel configuration. Single five-way terminals require speaker cable for each height channel.

From the speaker top to the wall
On a compatible speaker the module directs sound towards the ceiling; on a wall it operates as a direct height channel. It is Dolby Atmos compatible and designed to meet DTS:X specifications. Each unit measures 166 x 158.3 x 320 mm and weighs 3 kg, relevant especially when planning wall mounting.
Set the rear position switch before final installation to match the chosen mounting method. The stated 50 Hz-50 kHz overall response and 70 Hz-32 kHz -3 dB limits also refer to wall mounting. Two height channels require an AV receiver with suitable amplified channels and configuration.
With speaker-top placement, the room ceiling affects the reflected height effect. Wall placement uses a direct height channel, so its mounting height and direction deserve equal attention.
