Amp Box S3 CI: the installation features
The Amp Box S3 CI starts from the Amp Box S3 circuit, sharing a board layout conceived to hold down distortion and noise, and adds what is needed by those who build audio into a property. It powers up by itself the moment current reaches it; alternatively it watches the input and moves between standby and on according to whether music is present, saving energy while the system is silent.
The RS232 port brings it into automation, smart-home and home theatre systems. Level, bass and treble controls tailor gain and response to the speakers and the room: correction reaches 11 dB up or down at 20 Hz and 5 dB at 20 kHz. Speakers, RS232 and power use professional connectors that cannot be pulled out by mistake; beside the RCA input sits an RCA loop output for daisy-chaining further power amplifiers.
Suggested uses range from an equalised hi-fi system for rooms of 10-15 m² to multiroom, from studio monitors to in-wall or ceiling speakers, and on to hotels, restaurants and cafés. The all-aluminium enclosure guards against vibration and radio-frequency noise, common in such installations, and the small footprint helps wherever rack space is scarce.
