A belt-drive turntable with a switchable phono preamplifier built in, an 8 mm glass platter and an aluminium arm with a factory-adjusted Ortofon OM 10 cartridge. It connects straight to a line input, with no outboard stage.
T1 EVO Phono: plinth, platter and phono stage
The T1 EVO Phono is the version of the range aimed at systems lacking a phono input. The moving-magnet stage sits inside the deck and can be bypassed with a switch: engaged, it raises the signal to line level for any amplifier or for active speakers; bypassed, it passes the cartridge signal on to an outboard phono stage. The Connect it Phono E RCA lead, low in capacitance and suitable for both uses, comes in the box together with the power supply.
The mechanical side is all about keeping resonance away. The plinth is a heavy, solid block, CNC-milled, in which no plastic appears and no internal voids remain. The 8 mm blasted-glass platter is massive and does not ring, while the feet isolate the deck from vibration in the room. Under the platter, a sub-platter larger than its predecessor turns on a bearing held to a 0.001 mm tolerance, with a hardened steel shaft and brass sleeve.
The straight 8.6-inch arm is formed from a single piece of aluminium, headshell included, and moves on low-friction bearings. The Ortofon OM 10, a moving-magnet design with an elliptical diamond stylus, leaves the factory already aligned and with its tracking weight set. Switching between 33 and 45 rpm is electronic. The dust cover has adjustable hinges.
