An entry-level, ready-to-play belt-drive turntable with electronic switching between 33 and 45 rpm, a die-cast aluminium platter and an aluminium arm carrying a factory-set Pick it MM E. This is the version with a direct phono output.
E1.2: what is inside
The E1.2 platter is a 730 g aluminium casting, damped around its rim and then reworked and balanced in a separate operation so that it turns evenly. It rests on an ABS sub-platter reinforced with glass fibre and on a bearing whose stainless steel shaft and ball run inside a bronze sleeve, which keeps rotation noise low. The plinth is CNC-machined with no cavities inside and stands on damping feet that isolate it from the furniture.
The arm is machined from aluminium, with a high-mass gimbal pivot and precision bearings free of play. Its counterweight has a larger diameter than usual and sits near the pivot, a choice that improves balance and groove tracking to the benefit of detail and bass. Every adjustment is made at the factory, so no tools are needed to get started.
The Pick it MM E cartridge relies on a miniature neodymium magnet: the reduced moving mass helps the stylus follow the groove. The tip is a conical diamond with a warm, smooth character and little surface noise, and the heavily damped ABS body limits colouration caused by vibration. The signal lead is captive, and the box includes an acrylic lid and an adapter for 7-inch singles. The turntable is assembled by hand in the Czech Republic.
