Denon HEOS Drive HS2 is a professional four-zone, eight-channel streaming amplifier with 60W per channel, 2U rack mounting and independent HEOS control.
Role and differences
It is developed for distributed audio and custom installation rather than as a simple one-room amplifier. Each zone provides two 60W channels into 8 ohms, independent HEOS sources, assignable inputs and preamplifier outputs. The four zones can play different content or operate as a group, reducing the number of separate components in the rack.

Connections and use
Bridge mode combines power sections for zones requiring more headroom, reducing the total number of available channels. Quiet fans, removable rack ears and connection layout are designed for an equipment cabinet. Each zone can use passive speakers, an external power amplifier through pre-out and an active subwoofer, with separate control from the app or compatible automation systems.
Multi-zone design
Compared with Home Amp, HEOS Drive HS2 multiplies zones and integration options but requires centralised cable planning. Compared with HEOS Link HS2 it directly adds loudspeaker power. It is therefore intended for homes, showrooms and commercial spaces with several rooms, where reliability, thermal management and orderly servicing matter as much as streaming.
Guided setup reduces the initial steps, although network quality, position and system matching remain important for stable results. Before final installation it is worth checking Wi-Fi coverage, mains outlets and any required cable routes. This keeps daily operation straightforward without compromising acoustically sensible placement.
